The £1B Tourist Tax That Threatens 33,000 Manchester Jobs

The Prime Minister wants to give local councils across the UK the power to charge overnight visitors a fee. UK Hospitality, a trade body representing 130,000 UK pubs, restaurants and hotels, wrote to him arguing the plan makes family holidays too pricey. The industry group says the nationwide levy will saddle travellers with over £1bn in added costs.
