Households across the UK can now apply for government-backed low or no-interest loans to pay for solar panels, home batteries and heat pumps under the new Warm Homes Loan Scheme. Rates can be up to five percentage points below normal loans. Owner-occupiers and private landlords can borrow up to £15,000 for solar or batteries and up to £35,000 for ground-source heat pumps, subject to credit checks.
