The government will co-invest with Rolls-Royce in a 10-year, £2.5bn programme to develop next-generation jet engine technology for passenger and military aircraft, the Budget confirmed. The Treasury says it will support 3,300 jobs at Rolls-Royce and its partners by the end of 2029, including in Derby, the Midlands and Bristol, as the first step in a planned decades-long partnership with the Derby-based British engine maker.
