Northern Ireland Secretary Sir Chris Bryant said he will ban the Orange Order's Drumcree parade after the PSNI chief constable warned it could not proceed without major intervention risking serious injury and wider disorder. The Garvaghy Road stand-off in Portadown has lasted almost two weeks since the Parades Commission allowed the march with restrictions. Residents welcomed the move; unionists and Portadown's lodge condemned the decision.
