Who actually votes for Ballon d'Or?
The Ballon d'Or is decided by a panel of 100 sports journalists from the top 100 FIFA-ranked nations. Each journalist picks their top five players, with points awarded based on their ranking. This system aims to ensure a global perspective, but it also means the outcome can be unpredictable, as seen with the website's premature announcements.
