Who votes for the Ballon d'Or?
The Ballon d'Or is awarded by France Football magazine. For decades, only European players were eligible, but since 1995, players of any nationality can win if they play for a European club. Since 2007, it's open to all players worldwide. This year's ceremony marks 70 years of the award.
