How is the Ballon d'Or decided?
The Ballon d'Or is awarded annually by French news magazine France Football to the world's best male player. It is voted for by international journalists, national team coaches, and captains. While aiming to recognise the best, the subjective nature of voting can lead to surprising results, sometimes favouring popularity over pure performance.
