What's an F1 'entry fee'?

An entry fee is a substantial payment a new team must make to join Formula 1, currently set at £300 million. This money is then distributed among the existing teams as compensation for the potential reduction in prize money and commercial revenue. It's designed to protect the financial interests of the current participants.
