What is the Entry-Exit System?
The EU's new Entry-Exit System (EES) is an automated IT system for registering non-EU travellers each time they cross an external EU border. It collects biometric data like fingerprints and facial images, replacing traditional passport stamping. Its aim is to enhance border security and identify overstayers, but it's currently causing significant delays at checkpoints.
