Formula 1 bosses say adding a 12th team this decade is unlikely

Despite rumours about Chinese carmaker BYD paying a £300 million entry fee, no formal offer has actually been made. Liam Parker, the sport's communications head, said launching a car now would waste money because new engine rules begin around 2030. The grid recently expanded to 11 when Cadillac joined, but organisers expect the race calendar to stay at 24 weekends.
