Explained in plain English

Who gets the cleaning fee?

When you pay a cleaning fee on Airbnb, that money goes directly to the host, not to a separate cleaning service. Hosts decide how much to charge and whether to use it for professional cleaners, clean themselves, or simply keep it as extra income. This change means guests pay for cleaning, so shouldn't do it.
