Why Slot backs Salah after his longest drought since 2017
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has publicly backed Mohamed Salah despite the 33-year-old going nine Premier League matches without a goal — his longest dry spell since joining the club from AS Roma in 2017. Salah's last league goal came in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on 1 November. Slot said the run reflects Salah's unusually high standards, and noted that forwards Ekitike and Gakpo have also been short of goals.
