Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says the club broke a promise not to sell Scott McTominay. Speaking to The Athletic, he said bosses agreed during contract talks in Ibiza to keep the midfielder, then sold him to Napoli in 2024, leaving him embarrassed and disappointed. Ten Hag, sacked months later, said he was also promised loyalty, backing and good communication that never came.
