US Officer Flown Out of UK Named in Abuse Case

The US embassy worker flown out of Britain in August before Metropolitan Police could question him is Lieutenant Colonel Michael Morris, an Air Force assistant military attaché, the BBC reports. He faces US charges including possessing and distributing child abuse material, which remain unproven allegations. A military hearing is due next month near Washington, and the case has revived concern at Westminster over UK jurisdiction.
