UK Gaza Refugee Route Limited to Jordan and Lebanon

The Home Office faces claims it raised false hopes after a reopened Palestinian resettlement route was limited to a very small number of urgent cases already in Jordan or Lebanon. Campaigners said Shabana Mahmood's conference pledge suggested help for people still in Gaza. Officials say refugee status usually requires applicants to be outside their country of origin, with referrals via the International Refugee Assistance Project.
