Uber shuts ride-hailing services in Nigeria and Uganda with immediate effect

Uber has decided to close its ride-hailing services in Nigeria and Uganda immediately after reviewing its business. Drivers in Nigeria have long complained about low prices and high commission, especially with rising fuel costs. The company will still operate in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, and will support affected employees and drivers until 23 September.
