Trump threatens EU with tariffs over tech company fines

US President Donald Trump announced that America will investigate the EU and consider new tariffs because of fines against major US tech companies. The announcement follows a €890m fine imposed on Google by the European Commission for unfairly favouring its own services. Trump claimed Apple, Meta, and Amazon have also received large EU fines, calling the US "not a 'PIGGYBANK' for Europe".
