Second train derailment in Britain in under 24 hours

A Greater Anglia train has derailed near Wickford in Essex, the second such incident in Britain in less than a day after 20 people were hurt near Lewes on Thursday. British Transport Police said the rear carriages came off the tracks just after 2pm on Friday but the train stayed upright, with no injuries reported. Network Rail says this summer's extreme heat is straining tracks and putting pressure on the network.
