Science Corporation, led by Neuralink co-founder Max Hodak, has implanted its PRIMA vision-restoring chip in its first Stargardt disease patient. The implant was placed in May in an ongoing trial at Sydney Eye Hospital in Australia. In the first session the patient saw a letter, and in the second he read a word. The hourlong procedure places a chip at the back of the eye.
