Princess urges compassion for addiction sufferers this week
Addiction Awareness Week is underway, and the Princess of Wales has released a statement. Catherine, patron of The Forward Trust, called for greater understanding towards those with addiction. The Princess stated addiction is a mental health issue, not a character flaw. She highlighted the stigma's harm to individuals, families, and communities. Open conversations are vital for recovery, she said. The Princess initiated the first such awareness week in 2021 and continues to advocate for mental health.
