People regain most lost weight within 18 months of stopping GLP-1 drugs - Research

A major review published in the British Medical Journal found that people who stop taking GLP-1 weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy regain weight roughly four times faster than those who lose weight through diet and exercise alone. University of Oxford researchers analysed 37 studies covering more than 9,300 adults, finding that participants taking newer GLP-1 drugs lost an average of 33 pounds during treatment but regained approximately 22 pounds within a year of stopping. Researchers project most patients return to their original weight within around 18 months.
