NHS flu jab rules change from October under new Labour government

The NHS has confirmed flu jab rule changes from 1 October 2026, with some vaccinations starting from 1 September 2026. New Labour Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who appointed Yvette Cooper as Health Secretary on 20 July 2026, introduced the changes. The programme now includes homeless people aged 16 and over, along with revised eligibility for children.
