Newcastle reach Champions League last 16 for first time

Newcastle United reached the Champions League last 16 for the first time in the club's history, beating Qarabag 3-2 at St James' Park on Tuesday to win the tie 9-3 on aggregate. Sandro Tonali and Joelinton scored inside six minutes before Sven Botman added a second-half header. Newcastle are now the top scorers in the competition this season with 26 goals, and will face either Chelsea or Barcelona in the next round — the draw takes place in Switzerland on Friday.
