MOD Objects to Yorkshire Dales Wind Farm Plan

The Ministry of Defence has objected to plans for a 23-turbine Hope Moor wind farm on moorland near the Yorkshire Dales, saying it would cause unacceptable interference to radar and obstruct low-flying aircraft. Developer Fred Olsen Renewables seeks turbines over 200 metres high between Arkengarthdale and Teesdale. The MOD warned of impacts on nearby RAF radar sites. A final decision rests with the energy secretary.
