An important 1-1 away draw was secured for Arsenal in their Champions League first-leg match against Bayer Leverkusen, preventing a home deficit. Kai Havertz converted an 89th-minute penalty, won by substitute Noni Madueke, after Arsenal had conceded early in the second half. Manager Mikel Arteta praised his "finishers," as this marks the seventh time a sub has scored for the team this term.
