Irish police intercept significant bomb preventing Northern Ireland attack

Irish police, known as Gardaí, stopped a car on Wednesday carrying an "extremely significant" and "highly sophisticated" bomb. The device, incorporating military-grade explosives, a power unit, and a detonator, was discovered on the N2 near Carrickmacross in County Monaghan. A woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s have been arrested in connection with the intelligence-led operation.
