Germany's AfD demands talks after state election win stating "democracy demands"
The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) secured 43.8% of the vote in Saxony-Anhalt, missing an outright majority by three seats. Its deputy parliamentary leader, Beatrix von Storch, said "democracy demands" other parties talk to them, despite most refusing to work with the AfD. Governing at state level would give the party powers over policing and local education.
