EU gives Greenland €200 million after US annexation threats

The EU has unveiled a €200 million funding package for Greenland, committing to more than double current funding levels over the next decade. The investment follows a diplomatic confrontation earlier this year, when US President Donald Trump threatened to forcibly acquire the island. The additional funding is earmarked for satellite and cable connectivity, hydropower, and critical raw materials, with a signing ceremony in Nuuk.
