Cathay Pacific and Google expand AI trials to cut contrails

Cathay Pacific and Google are broadening their AI trials to help aircraft avoid climate-warming contrails. Preliminary tests showed a 40% decrease in their warming effect. The airline will use Google's AI forecasts, satellite images, and weather data to identify contrail formation zones, with the expanded trial covering Asian and trans-Pacific routes.
