The Association of French Mayors has called on mayors, councillors and residents to gather outside town halls from noon on Monday after weekend rioters attacked public buildings. Limoges city hall was gutted by fire and Marseille city hall was briefly stormed. The group called the attacks a serious threat to democratic institutions, while big-city leaders demanded exceptional public order resources from Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
