Essex beach shut down after tragic incident on Wednesday evening

Police, fire, ambulance, and coastguard personnel attended the Seaview Avenue and beach area in West Mersea, Essex, on Wednesday evening. The West Mersea Coastguard Rescue Team described it as a "tragic incident" and said their thoughts are with the family involved. Essex Police have asked the public to avoid the area while emergency crews continue their work.
