Burnham pledges £442m to end rough sleeping by Christmas

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced £102 million in new funding to give every rough sleeper in England an offer of accommodation this winter, bringing the total committed to £442 million. The government plans to repeat the pandemic-era Everyone In scheme, which cleared thousands off the streets. Autumn 2025 figures recorded 4,793 people sleeping rough on a single night in England, a record high for the fourth year running.
