Brixton waste facility fire forces nine residents to evacuate

Around 60 firefighters worked to extinguish a significant fire at a waste processing plant on Belinda Road in Brixton. The blaze encompassed approximately 70 metric tons of domestic refuse within a metal building, resulting in the precautionary evacuation of nine residents. Firefighters used on-site machinery and thermal imaging cameras to bring the fire under control by 00:02, with no injuries reported.
