Bridget Phillipson appointed Labour Party chair by Andy Burnham

Andy Burnham has appointed Bridget Phillipson as Labour Party chair, tasking her with driving "culture change" within the party. Phillipson, who was previously education secretary, will also prepare Labour for the next general election and modernise its digital campaigning. She will work alongside Prime Minister Burnham and Deputy Labour leader Lucy Powell to ensure the party focuses on working people.
