Football's Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held at the London Palladium on Monday 26 October, a nod to English football history. Organisers chose London to mark the award's 70th anniversary and to honour Sir Stanley Matthews, the English winger who won the very first Ballon d'Or in 1956. The world's best male and female players of the past season will be crowned on the night.
