When is handball allowed?

Accidental handball by an attacking player is generally not penalised unless it directly leads to a goal or a clear goal-scoring opportunity for that player. In Maguire's situation, because the ball deflected off an opponent and was therefore an own goal, his accidental handball wasn't considered an offence, and the goal stood.
