What's an own goal?

An own goal in football happens when a player accidentally puts the ball into their own team's net, or, as in Maguire's case, when a shot that was going wide deflects off an opponent and goes in. The goal is credited to the opposing team's player whose shot was deflected, or to no one if it was a direct mistake.
