What will I pay?

From April 2028, fully electric cars will be charged 3p per mile, and plug-in hybrids 1.5p per mile. This is less than the 6p per mile fuel duty currently paid by petrol and diesel vehicles. The new tax aims to replace lost fuel duty revenue as more people switch to electric cars.
