What is the Beehive Cluster?

The Beehive Cluster, also known as M44, is an 'open cluster' of stars in the constellation Cancer. It's one of the closest and brightest star clusters to Earth, making it a popular target for stargazers. It looks like a fuzzy patch to the naked eye, but binoculars reveal many individual stars.
