What is EES?

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is a new automated IT system for registering non-EU citizens each time they cross an EU external border. It replaces manual passport stamping, aiming to make border crossings quicker and more secure by recording entry and exit dates, and checking compliance with short-stay limits.
