Elderly British travellers struggle with new EU fingerprint scans
New EU Entry/Exit System (EES) border checks, which started in April, are causing long waits and issues for British holidaymakers across Europe. Elderly travellers are often rejected at biometric kiosks because their fingerprints are too faded to be recognised, leading to extra delays. Some countries like France, Greece, Portugal, and Spain have temporarily suspended the EES checks during busy periods to prevent congestion.
