Explained in plain English
What is a 'winger' or 'striker'?
In football, a 'winger' is an attacking player who typically plays on the flanks (sides) of the pitch, aiming to dribble past defenders and cross the ball or cut inside to shoot. A 'striker' is the team's primary goalscorer, playing furthest forward and focusing on putting the ball in the net.
