How are wildfires fought?

Fighting wildfires, like the one burning 35 hectares in Barcelona, involves a coordinated effort. Firefighters use water from hoses and sometimes fire retardants dropped from aircraft to create barriers and extinguish flames. They also clear vegetation to deny the fire fuel, a technique known as creating firebreaks, to contain its spread.
