Why has Abbott returned to Labour a third time?

An independent review restored Abbott to Labour on Thursday, lifting her suspension for the second time. She was suspended in 2025 for defending comments that Jewish and Traveller people do not face racism like people targeted by skin colour. She also received a warning over a deleted post calling Israel's military the 'Jewish Defence Force', and apologised for the hurt caused.
