Why France Warns Reform UK's Navy Plan Breaches International Law

Over 2,000 people have crossed the Channel during Andy Burnham's first fortnight as prime minister, bringing the total for 2026 to 14,526. Responding to Reform UK's proposal to use naval vessels for return trips, France warned that the move would breach its national sovereignty. Despite the ongoing row, overall arrivals remain 43% lower than they were at this point last year.
