Why did Zack Polanski defend Cambridge's Jason Arday?

Green Party leader Zack Polanski defended Cambridge professor Jason Arday on 5 August, saying people of colour can sometimes be held to higher standards during a plagiarism dispute. Arday, Cambridge's youngest Black professor, resigned this week as the university opened an inquiry into his PhD thesis and credentials, claims he denies fabricating. Nearly 16,000 people had signed a Good Law Project letter backing him.
