Why did Ukraine strike Russia's Yaroslavl refinery again?
Ukrainian drones hit the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia, for a second straight night on 5 and 6 August, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed. The plant sits over 700km from Ukraine and ranks among Russia's five largest refineries, processing 15 million tonnes of crude oil yearly. Yaroslavl governor Mikhail Yevrayev confirmed the strike and reported regional fires, with no casualties reported by either side.
