Trump cancels plans to livestream the execution of the Fort Hood shooter

Nidal Malik Hasan will face a firing squad for the 2009 fatal shooting of 13 people at an army base in Texas. The US president confirmed on Thursday that the punishment will not be broadcast online, following widespread backlash from politicians and the United Nations. He added that immediate relatives of the victims will still be permitted to watch the event in person.
