Why did France reject Reform's Channel Navy plan?
France's interior ministry rejected Reform UK's Channel Navy plan as a violation of French sovereignty and maritime law. Reform leader Nigel Farage said the plan complies with international law, while Downing Street said Navy involvement in 2022 failed to reduce crossings. Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said the plan lacks detail and funding, as Channel crossings this year are down 43 percent to 14,526.
