Why did Alphabet's results spook Big Tech?

A $5.9bn cash burn: Alphabet raised 2026 capital spending guidance to $195-205bn, lifting capex to 41% of revenue from 23% a year ago, and shares fell about 5% pre-market with Microsoft, Meta and Amazon down too. The quarter itself was strong: revenue of $119.8bn and Google Cloud up 82% to $24.8bn on a $514bn backlog. Gemini 4 pretraining has begun.
